The European project Human Corridor is based on the humanitarian corridor implemented by Comunity of S.Egidio, the Waldensians Church and the Federation of Evangelic Churches in Italy, during the two-years period 2016-2017, with the support of the Community of Pope John 23rd through its nonviolent peace corps Operation Dove.
The project aims at defining standard procedures for the implementation of the humanitarian corridors, which can be adopted in/from other Member States with refugees from all over the world.
The project foresees 4 Work-Packages and the achievement of several intermediary objectives in order to achieve the overall objective. The first phase consists in the analysis of the humanitarian corridors implemented in the two-year period 2016-2017; the study of other European relocation and resettlement practices; the needs assessment of refugees and the needs assessment of the States which already implement the humanitarian corridors and the States that potentially will adopt the model.
This first phase aims to define the procedures of the humanitarian corridors, that will be delivered and tested in the framework of the Work-Package 3 with the legal and safe entry in Italy/France of 1.000 refugees from Lebanon and Ethiopia and the support to their integration pathway in the local civil society.
